About

Hi, I’m Marinus.

I’m a designer originally from Germany but currently based in Groningen, in the Netherlands for my master’s degree.

I like to see myself as a Creative Technologist: Focussing on new and old technologies alike, I engage with them as deeply as possible while always maintaining a human perspective.

Design is an interdisciplinary tool — it influences our lives through form and aesthetics, but it also shapes interactive experiences, practical value, social spaces, and important approaches in research.

This versatility has always fascinated me, which is why my work often takes place between two poles: between code and paper, between concrete problem solving and free experimentation, between big visions and small ideas, between critical questions and playful thinking.

Convincing concepts are just as important to me as well executed craft, and the process is just as important as the result. The focus is always on creative work itself, proactive thinking, and a continuous learning process.
