The inner workings of computers are usually hidden behind black boxes and many layers of abstraction. This device runs a program created in the graphical programming language Pure Data, which shows the calculations taking place in real time. The computed numbers flowing through layered networks of instructions become part of the composition, resulting in generative drawings and rhythms. The system can be influenced through physical controls showing different patterns emerging from “pure data”.
